I believe that in the matter of couples two kinds of
love exist. The first kind of love is
driven by exuberance. If flares
quickly, but more often than not recedes.
The second kind of love is slow and oaken in growth. This love grows steady (even leaving room to
falter) but lasts.
The question is: do we have a choice between these? And if we do, is the choice obvious?

ReplyDeleteMy take: There is really no choice. "Love" takes its course. Either it peters out or graduates to another level that is made deeper and stronger as the couple get to know each other better. It's either a progression when the couple accept each other's differences and idiosyncrasies; or a regression if they can't and drift apart thereafter. It is either a continuum or a stagnation and change results accordingly.
