The most vibrant color combinations are those of
complementary colors. Red and
green. Violet and yellow. These colors are found on the opposite side
of the color wheel. Complementary colors
attract attention and are often used in advertising. When mixed together, complementary colors
will produce neutrals: grey, white, or black.
If you stare at a single color
for more than a few seconds, as example blue, and then stare at a white
surface, the complementary color (yellow in this case) will appear.
