Stormfronts will cross the Rocky Mountains, but only
do so fitfully. The clouds tend to
pile-up and boil atop the Continental Divide.
Then, almost as if the bellies of the clouds have been torn open by the
mountains, they fall over the nearby valleys spilling out snow and rain.
Living, as I do, in a valley only a few miles east
of the Continental Divide, I have a front row seat on storm crossings. Today, I have posted photos I took of an
evening storm I caught while driving into Helena.
