While listening to SiriusXM, I heard a program hosted by David
Amram, the American conductor and composer, and singer-songwriter Steve
Earle. While introducing one of the
songs the pair had selected to play, Amram told Earle his favorite joke about
musicians.
Here is the joke:
FATHER: “What do you want to
do when you grow up, son?”
SON: “When I grow up I want
to be a musician.”
FATHER: “You can’t do both,
son.”
—Mitchell Hegman
"Growing up" is relative. Exactly what "growing up means" may not be the same for everyone.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Musicians are particularly unique as a whole. And you know a lot of them!
ReplyDeleteMost of the ones I know are middle-aged or in their '60s but I wouldn't say they are "grown up."
ReplyDeleteAnd that is a good thing!
