On a rare day, a family other than your own will adopt you. Even if just for a single day.
Such is my case.
Yesterday, the Sullivan clan, my “neighbors” for twenty years at
my cabin property, accepted me as they would their own family. This as we gathered alongside Hogum Creek to
honor and celebrate the life of Gerald Sullivan.
Jerry was father to the Sullivan clan. He passed last fall at the age of 88. To memorialize him, a portion of his cremains
were committed to earth and a tree was planted in the same spot. Additionally, each person in attendance
painted messages and pictures for Jerry on river rocks and then placed them
around the planted tree. A second
celebration will be taking place alongside his beloved and trout-filled Big
Horn River later this week.
Posted today are a few photographs from Jerry’s celebration.
Rest in peace, Jerry.
