While sitting in full sunshine inside my sunroom, I studied the last of a skiff of snow melting outside under the pine tree at the corner of my house.
We are not in full-blown winter
yet.
Around here, you know winter has
arrived when you see a truck scooting across the frozen surface of a lake, or your
cat freezes to the deck when you let it out, or a snow shovel is required to
reach the birdfeeder.
This was practice snow.
