Whenever I see a man wearing a suit with a bow tie (which happens
way more often than I would like), I have the same initial thoughts
They are swear words, actually.
Then I think to myself: I
hope there never comes a time when bow ties come back in style to a point where
I might need to wear one. And that’s
not particularly farfetched when it comes to popular styles for dress. Don’t forget, less than fifty years ago we
were all running around in bell-bottoms.
And then I recall my middle school paisley print obsession.
Shit.

The latest thing that is back from my much younger days are those hair tie things called scrunchies. My son came home wearing one around his wrist (which also gave me a heart attack because I'm just not ready to acknowledge that he is potentially on the cusp of dating) and told me that it's a brand new style. Oh my sweet summer child, it is not. All things old are eventually new again!
ReplyDeleteStyles definitely come back around, but I am perpetually out of style. Haha.
DeleteSo called "fashion" are all passing fancies to stimulate sales. All commercialism.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of that.
