Questions and Fear

What if, when the God you have chosen calls you, the voice sounds like gulls crying at the sea? Or imagine, instead, that your God sounds like a fine teacup shattering against stone? That would be almost pleasing, but probably unlikely. I read about your God just yesterday, that he killed John Lennon and some others because they did not appropriately fear him. Well...he did not kill them directly; he hired the deed done, more or less.

I am not sure why we need a God that hunts us down, or even dislikes our thoughts from time to time. I am no deep thinker. God has his name and I suppose you gave him his reasons, too. And, ultimately, aren't we insignificant? Isn't that entirely the point?
