New Year, 2013

Farewell, 2012!
Goodbye, Norman Schwarzkopf.   Goodbye, Senator Daniel Inouye.   Goodbye, Larry Hagman.  Goodbye, and run again, George McGovern.  Farewell, our ever-fair Emmanuelle.  Goodbye, First Man on the Moon.   Goodbye, Phyllis Diller.  Goodbye, and please have a lovely Sally Ride.  Keep the beat to beat The Band, Levon Helm.  Farewell, Earl Scruggs.  Goodbye, one-third of the Bee Gees.  What did your God ultimately write about you, Andrew Breitbart?
We shall miss you, Dick Clark.
Farewell, Ernest Borgnine and Andy G. of Mayberry.  Lend colors to the next sunrise, LeRoy Neiman.  Goodbye, Gore Vidal and share Vidal with Mr. Sassoon.   I am not sure we can all get along, Rodney King, but we shall try.  Write well and write on, Ray Bradbury.
Goodbye, and please change the channel on your way out, the inventor of TV remotes.  Summer ends at the sunset end of disco music—goodbye, Donna.   Goodbye Mrs. Houston, your songs play on.  Farewell, Davy Jones of The Monkees.
Hello, 2013!
Welcome, first child.
Welcome, first sunrise.
A photo of our hello:
